James R. Rappaport, MD, attended the University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine in San Francisco, CA, and received his medical degree in 1980. Furthermore, he conducted his general surgery residency (1980-1982) and residency in orthopedic surgery (1982-1986) at the UCSF Medical Center. In addition, he completed his fellowships in spine surgery at the Texas Institute for Spinal Disorders in Houston, TX (1986-1987) and with the Dr. John O’Brien London Clinic in London, UK (1987-1987). In addition, Dr. Rappaport received board certification in orthopedic surgery from the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery (ABOS). He remains a Diplomate of the American Board of Forensic Examiners, as well as member of the Washoe County Medical Society, the American Medical Association, the Nevada State Medical Association, the Bay Area Spine Society, and the California Orthopedic Association. Moreover, he attained fellowship of American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and a Fellow of the American Back Society.
